What is it that men do in their sheds that they
want to keep such a secret?
The South Gare is a man made peninsular that juts
out into the Tees estuary. Nestled in the sand dunes
are avenues of regimented huts, uniformly painted
to a military standard by an army of furtive figures
fiddling with their exteriors,”

Verboten’:-Artist Janet Moodie
has created a ‘peep through the keyhole’
installation of ‘huts for the lads’
revealing in minute detail their interior secretive
world. In addition, a number of paintings and drawings
respond to the richly diverse character of the South
Gare making for a rewarding provocative exhibtion.
